What is "heat cleaned"? Why would I want it?

Carey Bienert -

Uncoated fabrics have a starch coating on them to protect the yarns during the weaving process. The starch burns off during the PTFE coating process. Residue from the burn-off is what gives the fabric its brown color before the coating commences. This process is called HEAT CLEANING. Heat cleaning adds cost and reduces the strength of a fabric.
